Backsaw by Beardshaw & Son

Well who is Beardshaw & Son you might ask...

This post on WK Tools is most interesting for those that have a fondness for saws.  This article tells the history of a backsaw manufactured by Beardshaw & Son during the 19th century.   It certainly has a beautiful patina on the handle.

Roughing Out

An informative new post by Richard Maguire of The English Woodworker.

He talks about a couple of techniques used to flatten a plank for an upcoming project.  Pay attention to his stance and position when he is planing.

Beginnings

This blog is meant to be a resource for the 2016 OES Winterim Woodworking class.  I will be posting links, videos and general information about woodworking, especially green woodworking.  Also if questions come up in class I will post my responses here along with terminology that I have mentioned that might be hard to remember.

I hope you find this page useful and beneficial as you embark on your foray into woodworking.
